A Day at The Whitney

After a visit, The Whitney Museum of American Art is one of my new favorite NYC hotspots. You can spend hours wandering the museum looking at all of the compelling modern art. The best part is that a visit won't break the bank; the museum is free for 18 and under and only $17 for students.

My favorite part of the museum was definitely the exhibit on the fourth floor. There were a ton of cool neon signs and lots of rooms showing different short films. My favorite was a room filled with pink neon signs all in different shapes (totally Insta worthy!). There was also a floor dedicated to all portraits, everything from self-portrait paintings to portrait photography, which was another favorite.

The Whitney is also known for their sweeping views of Manhattan. They have balconies where you can get the prettiest views of the city (the best are on the seventh and eight floor!). Even though it was fourteen degrees outside, we braved the cold to take in the scenery. It was so pretty to stand outside and get to watch the sunset over the city!

The Whitney is open Sunday-Monday and Wednesday-Saturday. Check out their website to book your visit!
