Mockingjay: Part 1

The movie begins with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) battling the aftermath of the Quater Quell. Katniss has been rescued and taken refuge in underground District 13 along with her mother (Paula Malcomson), sister Primrose (Willow Shields), and best friend Gale (Liam Hemsworth). the only thing that is missing is Katniss' fellow District 12 victor, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), who has been taken captive and made prisoner by the evil people of the Capitol.

Katniss has been brought to District 13 to aid in a plan to help the rebellion that has been sparked. With the help of rebel game maker Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and District 13's fearless president Alma Coin (Julianne Moore), Katniss is being polished and fashioned to be the face of the rebellion. They plan to use her in multiple propaganda videos in which they are to spread word to the people that she is alright and that the different districts must continue the revolution and turn against the Capitol.

While the other two installments of the series were very violent and at times gory, Mockingjay: Part 1 is less action filled. There is some action and a bit of violence but compared to what happened in the other two films it is not much. The tertiary film focused more on filling in on the details and moving along in the plan for all the districts to come as one and rebel against the Capitol.

Mockingjay: Part 1 is probably one of my all time favorite movies. I would recommend it to anyone, although I think you would get more out of the film by reading the book series first! I love the story line and all the acting and special effects make the movie so amazing!
