2015 Music Festivals
For all music lovers, festival season is the best time of the year. Festivals are a chance to see all your favorite musicians at one event and to have a great time. I have done some research and looked at different festivals and lineups and picked out my favorites to share with you!
Located in Indio, California, Coachella is arguably one of the most famous music festivals in the world. People come from all over the country and world for the two-weekend, three-day festival which has many celebrities in attendance and a lineup that is always amazing. This year there are about 100,000 tickets being sold and the general admission passes cost $375 plus additional fees. You have the option of camping on site but alternatively there are multiple hotels in the area to stay at while you attend the festival. The festival will occur April 10-12 and April 17-19. Lineup highlights include ACDC, Alesso, Azealia Banks, George Ezra, The Weeknd, alt-J, Hozier, FKA twigs, Drake, Florence + the Machine, David Guetta, St. Vincent, Vance Joy, and many more. For more information check out their official website here where you can get tickets and view the entire lineup.
Launched in 2011, The Governors Ball is a three-day festival located in Randall's Island, NYC. The Governors Ball's lineup ranges from indie to electronic acts. The festival features popular food trucks and activities such as photo booths and a silent disco. This year the three-day regular general admission tickets cost $260 plus $40 of fees. This festival offers a payment plan where you can pay for your ticket in four installments. The Governor's Ball does not offer camping on site but the festival will usually partner with hotels nearby that you can stay at for the duration of the festival. This year the festival will take place June 5-7. Lineup highlights include Drake, Lana Del Rey, The Black Keys, Florence + the Machine, Charli XCX, Marina & the Diamonds, Rudimental, Vance Joy, Deadmau5, and a ton of other awesome artists. For more information like the full lineup and to buy tickets visit the festival's official website here.
Ultra has been an annual electronic music festival in Miami, Florida since 1999. The three-day electronic festival's lineup includes the hottest DJs and up and coming live acts. Like The Governors Ball, Ultra is not a camping festival but reserves hotels nearby in Miami for festival goers to stay at. While Coachella and The Governors Ball welcome music lovers of all ages, Ultra is an eighteen and older event. Prices for general admission tickets range from $299.95 to $449.95. Like The Governors Ball, Ultra has the option of paying for your tickets in installments. This first phase of this years lineup has been announced and DJ headliners include Skrillex, Afrojack, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, and Steve Aoki. There are also live headliners such as Kiesza, Clean Bandit, and Odesza. Keep checking the official website here for more information, tickets, and to see the full lineup as it is announced.
