Concert Review: IGGY AZALEA
This Friday I was lucky enough to get to see Iggy Azalea as she headlined JBL Live at Pier 97 in New York City. I have been a huge fan of Iggy for a while, so I was very excited to get the opportunity to see her perform live! The show was opened up by up and coming rapper Vic Mensa who got the crowd excited for Iggy.
Iggy was supposed to come on at 8:30 but was about 40 minutes late which got some of the crowd annoyed, but it was worth the wait! Iggy came on with two back up singers, four dancers and her DJ Wizz Kidd. The stage was lit up with pink and purple lights which fit perfectly with Iggy's outfit! She kicked off the show with F*** Love, a catchy song that most people in the crowd seemed to know.
Iggy did a good job keeping the crowd entertained - there was never a dull moment! There was a good mix of songs, ones everyone knew and some less popular ones. She mixed in some tracks she is featured on like Problem and No Mediocre, to give the concert a bit more length. While I would not have expected it, there were a significant amount of young fans in the crowd, but Iggy kept it appropriate for them by avoiding the curses in her songs which I thought was nice.
Even though Iggy was only on for about 40 minutes, it was a great show. She is a talented performer with a bubbly personality to match. I would definitely recommend to check out if she has any shows near you (http://iggyazalea.com/live). Tickets for her shows tend to range from $40-$100, but a fun filled concert like this is worth it!
