My Favorite Beauty Products of 2014

For me 2014 was a great year. Lots of amazing things happened but perhaps the best was this blog taking off. As the year comes to a close, I have picked out my top 10 beauty products from this year that I have been using and loving.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
I will take any chance I get to rant about how much I adore this mascara! If you have been keeping up with my blog, you probably will have already seen my Two Faced review (if not check it out here!) in which this mascara was talked about. I have fallen absolutely in love with this product to the point where I couldn't imagine my daily makeup routine without it. It gives my lashes so much volume! In the past mascara was a chore for me as I had to curl my lashes then apply several coats. This mascara not only gives my eye lashes volume (so no need for curling) but it also makes my lashes look long and thick with just a single coat.

Purely Perfect Cleansing Creme
I saw this shampoo on Urban Outfitter's website and decided to give it a try. The Purely Perfect Cleansing Creme is sulfate and detergent free which means it doesn't lather. This shampoo is the best shampoo in the world. It is for all hair types and leaves your hair feeling silky smooth (there is no need for conditioner), healthy and smelling like peppermint. It is a bit on the pricy side (40 dollars) but I think this product is totally worth it.

C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine
I got this lip shine earlier this year from Bath and Body Works and I have been loving it so much. It makes my lips super shiny and I love the minty smell. The way I usually use this lip shine is in making matte lips shiny. I do love my matte lipsticks but sometimes with my makeup looks I think the colors look better with a little shine versus being matte. I also use this lip shine on days when I'm going makeup free because it ensures that I won't get chapped lips.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Shadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige
I have fallen so in love with this product! I picked up this shadow stick at one of my drug store hauls this spring because I liked the gold shimmery color. It has become part of my everyday makeup look! I love how sparkly it is and it applies easily because I literally just draw it onto my eyelid. Rimmel makes their ScandalEyes Shadow Sticks in 15 shades and I am definitely going to be trying more colors after loving Bulletproof Beige so much!

Everyday Minerals She's Creative Eye Shadow
Back in October I did a Everyday Minerals review (check it out here) that featured this amazing eyeshadow.  The color is pretty dark but I love it for blending! I have been used to using compact classic eyeshadow but this product is a powder eyeshadow which I found at times messy (I admit I have spilled a bit out from time to time) but overall I like it just as much as 'normal' eyeshadow. While it is technically an eyeshadow and I do use it as that,  I also use it a lot for filling in my eyebrows.

Lush 'The Comforter'
I have been loving Lush products this year to the point where I can't pass a Lush and not go in. My favorite has to be this bubble bar. It is pink and has a really nice fruity smell with ingredients like cassis and bergamot. All you need to do for the perfect bubble bath is crumble half this bar into your bath tub. I have really enjoyed using this bubble bar and I am going to try different scents of their bubble bars in 2015.

Sally Hansen Nail Polish in Jungle Gem
I got this nail polish this year for my birthday and it has been my go-to polish ever since. I love nail polishes and Sally Hansen is one of my favorite nail brands because their products are always such high quality. The best things about it are that you only need one coat (it makes quite a difference when I'm in a rush) and a manicure or pedicure with this polish will last me about 4-5 days without chipping. The color is really great too - I have been super into darker colors!

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Original
Batiste Dry Shampoo has been a hair essential for me this year. I have tried and used most of their scents this year but the original is my favorite. I like it because it smells clean and fresh so it isn't very noticeable in terms of scent that you have product in your hair. I have tried lots of different brands of dry shampoo but Batiste has to be my favorite. While other dry shampoos leave my hair looking powdery, Batiste blends into my hair and gives me the perfect amount of volume.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
I got this foundation last February after my friend recommended it to me. This foundation is light-medium coverage and brightening. I use it for lazy days when I'm not looking for a ton of coverage. I think this foundation is really easy to work with because of it's thick consistency. It is easy to blend and it leaves you with a smooth, even finish. It comes in a glass bottle with an orange pump dispenser. I have it in the shade 'Classic Ivory' but there are 5 different shades.

Pink Fresh & Clean Body Mist
This was a random purchase I made when shopping at Pink but I have absolutely loved it! The fragrance has a really fresh and girly scent with notes of apple of lily. I usually use this body mist when I am going to school or hanging out with friends. I have tried lots of Pink's body mists but this one is my favorite. I also love the bottle - I think it's so cute and I always have it on display with my beauty products!

I would love to hear what your favorite products of 2014 were. Leave your favorites in the comments because I would love to check them out! Also, if any of you have tried any of these products in my top 10 list let me know in the comments what you thought of them. Here's to 2015 and the many more blog posts to come! I wish all you lovelies a happy and healthy new years!

XO,
Caroline Elizabeth
